Client: British Red Cross
PROJECT: INSOURCING AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT
BUSINESS NEEDS
The British Red Cross Society (BRCS) had a very large estate of 1,200 properties within the UK but these were misaligned to the organisation’s needs as it had significantly changed its service offerings. It also urgently needed to raise capital. Its existing CRE team was unable to align or deliver a new real estate strategy. A significant step change in capability was required.
CORPRA'S ROLE
Corpra was recruited by the Chief Executive of BRCS to develop a new strategy and enhance the capability of the CRE team. The former involved Corpra insourcing three Directors and a Senior Consultant as Territorial Property Directors to rebuild the relationship and trust with the Territorial leadership within the BRCS.
The CRE capability enhancement involved:
• Organisational Alignment and Design
• Psychometric Profiling and Team Development
• Redesign of Processes and Procedures
• Defining Requirements and Procurement of New Property Information Solution
• Developing Internal Charging Process
• Education and Training
• Performance Measurement
OUTPUT
• CRE capability raised significantly
• Capability moved from “frustrating” to “supporting”
• £20m capital raised in 12 months
