An organisation's strategy is the road to achieving its core objectives, vision and ultimate purpose.
In formulating a strategy it must be appropriate for its resources, capabilities and external business environmental circumstances. For Corpra strategy is simply Doing the Right Thing. Its sounds simple, but the reality is that many organisations have strong traits of path dependency (i.e the road they have been on determines the road they want to continue following), and propensity to change is a key constraining factor.
Often it is about stopping doing the wrong things and focusing on the right things rather than a dramatic change. Whilst any MBA graduate can develop a strategy, the real art is understanding how far you can take the organisation given the capabilities at different levels within the organisation to manage the transition
Our strategy development process largely focuses upon understanding the complexity of the organisation and working with its natural forces and momentum to create sustainable strategies of change, and managing the inter-relationship between strategy, infrastructure and people.
